Episode 281: Where Does Nutritional Advice Fit In With Becoming A Natural Eater?

Be honest. With so many different diets out there and so many plans to choose from, don’t you sometimes wish someone would just give you exact advice about what to eat?

I wouldn’t blame you if you thought that would solve your overeating habits.

But if you’ve listened to me for a while, you know that first we need to relearn when we are hungry and when our bodies have had enough.

Then, we figure out what to eat.
As much as we would like it, there is no nutritional prescription that will change your eating habits.

Where Does Nutrition Fit In

The way you eat, or overeat, comes from your mind. So, your first job is to get reconnected with those signals from your body.
Those signals tell you when you’re hungry and should feed yourself.
They also tell you when your body is approaching ‘enough’ and when you should stop eating.
And then learn how your mind works. So you understand why you sometimes feel like you need something to eat, even though the idea is not coming from your empty stomach.

So where does nutritional advice come in?
Do you need it?

There certainly are experts in the field of nutrition, like registered Dieticians. They can help you eat in a certain way to solve many physical issues.

After you learn to become a natural eater, that would be the time to learn how to optimize your nutritional intake to have the best health possible for you.

Looking to a nutritional expert to tell you how to lose weight from habits and urges…that is not the right answer. Not yet.

Let’s solve why you are overeating first.
Then we can add in some expert advice about what to eat to help your particular body. And your particular health situation.
